My World, My Noise

Hi there!

Thanks for visiting my site (quite messy but working on it!). Take a look around and drop some lines in the guestbook if you can! (I will greatly appreciate that!) I'm longing to see my old friends and classmates (wink wink). So show yourselves! Haha. Anyways, have a great time here and God Bless!

Top things you should know about me:

1. I'm talkative. I love talking to a lot of people and meeting new friends.
2. I have a twin brother (period. no further questions will be entertained :) )
3. I'm going to be an Electronics Engineer soon!! woohoo!
4. I'm not really into sports. I play badminton occassionally though. :(
5. I love traveling, whenever possible!
6. I recently reaffirmed myself to God and I believe that is the best decision I have made so far!
7. I will be honored to talk to Al Gore someday. I'm an environmentalist, by the way...
8. I'm hyper active with my extra curriculars: Student Council, outreach activities, tutorials, name it!
9. I love gadgets.
10. I'm not yet taken but I hope I will be, very soon. hehe ;)

Greatest pain in a person's life

We’re all protective to our loved ones. We all know that. Just imagine a scenario where someone, who you don’t know at all, suddenly approached your mum, dad, girlfriend or boyfriend and punched his/her face or told him/her the most embarrassing and derogatory statements you’ve ever heard in your life. I’ll bet most of us we’ll retaliate, perhaps punch back or hit this stranger really hard to the point that he would wish he shouldn’t have been born in this planet. Why do we react in such a way? I believe that because of our love to others, we put always assure them that they will always be safe whenever we are around. But think about this, while we coin ourselves to be our loved ones’ shield against harm, who shall protect them from us? I bet you didn’t get it. Here’s the thing, the scenario above is unlikely. Except for rare instances like some real crazy people who attack others randomly, no stranger would really bother hurting you or your loved ones. But h...

Wonderful deeds of simple people
Nowadays, it is so amazing how ordinary people show how good they are to others. We do not see this often and I would really say, I was blessed with few opportunities to knew a handful of people who are very nice even in their simplest ways.

Just a couple of weeks ago, I rode a jeepney en-route to balintawak on my way home. I did not notice I did not have money in my pocket except for a 200-peso bill. Thinking it's ok, I gave the bill to the collector (this terminal has its roster of collectors to prevent any riders who will not pay fare). Surprisingly, the collector did not accept my money simply because he did not have enough coins and bills to give me as my change. Well, the 200 peso bill is only what I got so the collector asked me to alight the jeep and have my bill changed somewhere. When suddenly, a woman of around 40 to 50-year of age, knowing the dillemna I was in, paid for my fare without even me asking. I gave her a nice thanks and she replied "walang anuman iho"....

Yes I fell short, but I've learned from it. Thank God

I wasn’t able to present the project but I discovered something that I wanted to have all this time. Never have I though that this day, through the words of one person, will allow me to reclaim myself from the nothingness it was dwelling on for so long. I am writing this to attest that I am back, alive and free.

It all started with songs, joyful ones which at first will make you wonder what they are for. I must admit, I wasn’t comfortable. But I don’t know, the rhythm and the voices were so enchanting that unexpectedly, I found myself going with the beat and singing with the rest of the group. I knew that there was something strange and I liked it. It was just me and Mer, Fefe had to go to EEE department for some thesis consultation. I did not feel alone nor unaccepted by anyone. I felt like I was there, by destiny and by faith.

And then came the main part of the programme.
After 3 days of tiresome but memorable, fun and exciting tours for our SEMS, it was time for us to have some real taste of Singapore. Where else? To the places where singapore is famous for! Sentosa, Night Safari, Merlion park are just a few of them! One day is not enough to get to these places and enjoy them to the fullest. These fun adventures we had trully capped our ECESEMS tour with a lot of fun memories to cherish.I hope you will also enjoy the places we went to if you are in Singapore!
Reggie goes to Singapore! First stop: NUS

At around 12 noon, our airbus PAL plane flight PR503 landed safely at Changi Airport in Singapore- the lion city!!! Finally after dreadful weeks of planning and arguments and scary moment at the immigration section of NAIA, we arrived at Singapore safely. It was my first time in Singapore and I definitely hope it would not be the last. Staff from the hotel fetched us at the airport and transported us to Grand Central, which was very near orchard, where we finally checked-in. All vehicles were drove right-handed and a keep-left-culture was observed. Was really hard at first but we had to cope up. First stop at our SEMS tour: National University of Singapore or NUS. Belonging to one of the top 50 schools worldwide, NUS was truly a place to visit. They had a very big and nice campus and ultra-modern engineering center. We were toured around by Ms. Jamie (who was very very kind) and was introduced to some of the brightest NUS students who are working on an unmanned helicopter navigation sy...

Reggie's despedida at Shell

Sigh. This is my second goodbye for the week. First was goodbye Singapore then now goodbye Shell Philippines. I never thought goodbyes could also give you some nice feelings too. A lot of people came to my despedida. Really lots of people came- RT, distribution, SO’s and dispatchers, maintpro and some good friends of mine like Marky (Ape). I would consider this despedida as celebration of the wonderful memories and experiences I had during my internship at Shell. Yes, there were a lot of stress and pressure moments but they were all worth it. Thanks first and foremost to my bosses especially Ms. Emma for the support and guidance they have given, to my awesome friends: Ate Kaye, Boon, Mica, Maam Yanna, Abi and many more. Salamat sa lahat and I hope to join you soon!

Tagaytay Highlands Adventure!

After a stressful 2 day haulers conference, we were treated with a very nice tour and adventure around highlands. All of us really had fun especially riding the trum (dunno if the spelling's right but anyway). It gave us a full view of the highlands while being 100 degree tilted (number's exag). I had close discussions and interactions with the haulers especially with my co-lasallians! I did not know but Mrs. Amin was a princess in Zamboanga and that makes the cute Andy a prince! The view was really magnificent! The conference was tiresome alright but hey, the view and experience made it all worth it.

What I envision is our university to become a role model of a sustainable community in the region and beyond wherein each policy and operation adheres to environmental standards.
Steven Chambers & Lisa Carter in the Phil for BALUD project

Steve and Lisa came to the Philippines for the Balud Project. Part of their itenerary was to meet up with the 59th Engineering Assembly and ECA for a joint agreement on Balud Project. Officially 59th ENG, ECA and the Imperial Blue Cube of the Imperial College of London are now partners for the project. After the talk, we went out with Steve and Lisa to have some dinner at Greenbelt and afterwards for some hot coco at max Brenner. Perhaps another cup of chocolate in the bald man's resto, steve?

Reggie at Shell Crystals!

Pilipinas Shell CRYSTALS – a real event to remember. Held at Edsa Shangri-La, Manila, outstanding employees of Shell were recognized and duly awarded. OJT’s in Pandacan and some employees in SSSC-Manila were chosen to prepare a dance number using the music of Hairspray. Yeah yeah, I’m one of them! Hahaha. The practice every night was really exhausting but it was all worth it. We were all nervous at the stage but I guess we didn’t much choice but do our best. After all, the guests are just the ordinary Managers and big bosses of PSPC! Hahaha. It was a very nice experience especially knowing more people like Mabel, Tin and Lee. Pandacan pips got closer and the proof is Ms. Yanna’s even planning a night-out of course, her treat! The food was great, the place was awesome and the program was perfect. CRSYTALS was very successful. The perk we had was an overnight stay at the hotel with complimentary breakfast at the HEAT! Hahaha. We didn’t have the chance to swim though! But the most memora...

Reggie with the Browns!

The Brown family was here in the Phil! With almost two weeks of vacation, I think they really had fun! Shawn, Scotty, Aunt Neni and Uncle Mike. Spent around 4 days with them mostly after work. Aunt Nen and Uncle Mike celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary here (see the nice chocolate wrapper!) Shawn and I played DOTA. We has 1 win each. As a price, he gave me his nice mouse. Ahaha! Uncle Mike gave me a book about Estrada but I decided to buy my own copy so that the next time he'll be here we can talk about the book. Perhaps over another glass of coffee! really nice. Aunt Nen hasn't changed a bit. Makulit and Mabait pa rin! Scott was also the same but I think he got more sociable. I wish him well with his gym-going. Use the water bottle scotty! hehe. Ms. Dais and Kuya Butch were also there. The time was really short but they had fun so did we. Four years wasn't that long huh? But for sure, I will miss this one great family again. Til next time guys!

I miss a lot of people and I hate this feeling

Slept at the bus and came in to work very very late. I got no enthusiasm to work neither to do just anything productive. My reporting is today and still I'm not prepared. Looking back, this week has been a roller coaster ride. I'm feeling something and geez it feels so heavy.

There are lots of people who make you feel important and appreciated. In my opinion, this is where I get my strength to carry on with my life, from the love and support of people around me. That's why whenever conflicts happen, it often affects me tremendously. This week, I got the chance to look back and see the faces of people who make me complete. People who I consider to be the most special and most treasured. Yeah, I can say I invest a lot on my emotional relationship with other people. That's me. and whenever they say "goodbye" to go to another place or for any other reason, this heavy feeling keeps on recurring and I hate it. Why I am feeling this? Perhaps because I love these people that's why.
...
